The GP3 Series heads to the legendary Hockenheimring, situated in the Rhine Valley near the town of Hockenheim in Baden-Württemberg. The last round in Hungary saw Alexander Albon overtake ART Grand Prix teammate Charles Leclerc at the top of the GP3 drivers’ standings after the former took the race win on Saturday. Matthew Parry took the win in race two ahead of Antonio Fuoco and Jake Dennis.

The German round marks the final weekend before the traditional summer break before the Belgium and Italian rounds. Leclerc, Albon and Fuoco will be hoping to top the drivers’ standings before the upcoming break.

Overtaking in GP3 is notoriously difficult especially at the tight and twisty Hungaroring. The Hockenheimring should provide more opportunities for drivers to overtake, mainly into the Turn 6 hairpin and Turn 8
