Marc Marquez stormed to another pole position at the Sachsenring in Germany by four-tenths of a second ahead of Hector Barbera.
Marquez has won the German GP at the Sachsenring six times in a row across all classes and looks favourite to make it seven in tomorrow’s race.
The Spaniard will start on pole position for the fourth time this season and hopes to build on his lead at the top of the MotoGP riders’ standings.
Barbera was arguably the standout performer of qualifying with a blistering lap in Q2 to put him on the front row and ahead of Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi in third.
Rossi will be content with a front row start for tomorrow’s race after struggling for pace in Friday practice. The Italian suffered traffic on his final lap of Q2 and the Yamaha rider admitted after qualifying that he had a couple of tenths in hand.

Like Barbera, Petrucci impressed in qualifying. He managed to progress from Q1, topping the timesheets ahead of Lorenzo and continued this good form into Q2. He will start on the second row of the grid. Pol Espargaro and Maverick Vinales join Petrucci on row two.
Both factory Ducatis will be disappointed with their performance in qualifying, being behind both Barbera and Petrucci. Andrea Dovizioso will start seventh and Andrea Iannone is two places lower in ninth.
Reigning champion Lorenzo will start 11th, behind Honda’s Dani Pedrosa.
Briton’s Cal Crutchlow was angry after failing to progress into Q2, blaming an incident in FP4 with Stefan Bradl as the reason to why he missed out.
