2016 Austrian Grand Prix – In Pictures

Sunday in the world of motorsport has been one to remember. From Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg colliding on the final lap of the Austrian Grand Prix to Lucas di Grassi hitting title rival Sebastien Buemi off at Turn 1 at Battersea Park in London.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Here we have put together some of the best photographs from the 2016 Austrian Grand Prix which saw the gap at the top of the Formula One Drivers’ Championship close to just 11 points.

Whilst the majority of the focus will be on the Hamilton-Rosberg collision, Manor scoring their first points of the season is a sight which will put a small smile on the faces of many Formula One fans. It is Manor’s first points finish since the 2014 Monaco Grand Prix where the late Jules Bianchi finished ninth. Pascal Wehrlein drove a similar race to that of Bianchi’s in 2014 to score Manor’s first points of the campaign and move them ahead of Sauber in the Constructors’ Championship.

2009 F1 Champion Jenson Button enjoyed his strongest weekend since 2014, finishing sixth after starting third.

Here’s a selection of the best photographs from the 2016 Austrian GP:
