There’s nobody else we could really give the “Rider of the Weekend” accolade to than Jorge Lorenzo. The Spaniard rode a fantastic race at Le Mans to complete what was really a superb weekend for the three-time world champion.
The Yamaha rider won the race on Sunday by over 10 seconds, beating teammate (and longtime rival) Valentino Rossi. It topped off another dominant weekend for Lorenzo, who took pole and led during free practice.

It was another dominant weekend, something Lorenzo has become famous for doing ever since he joined the class. Lorenzo is one of the select few who can call themselves “aliens”. These riders can simply ride off into the distance, leaving the rest of the field in their wake. Lorenzo has proven he can do this on multiple occasions, and Sunday was no exception.
Maverick Vinales would possibly be in second place, after the highly tipped Suzuki rider gained the Japanese manufacturer their first podium since Lloris Capirossi did so in 2010. But Lorenzo was the best rider of the weekend by a mile.
