It has been announced that Oliver Turvey will still be driving for NEXTEV TCR in Berlin, after his clashing Super GT race the same weekend was postponed.
Originally the Autopolis round of the series was due to take place the same weekend, with Turvey racing for the Drago Modulo Honda Racing team, but due to earthquakes that have affected Japan in recent weeks, the race has been postponed.
“First of all, my thoughts go out to everyone affected by the earthquakes that have hit Kyushu,” Turvey says on the Formula E website. “It’s understandable that the organisers have had to postpone the Super GT race at Autopolis, but I hope we can race there later in the year for all the fans in the Kyushu region.”
The Brit has been driving for NEXTEV since the two London rounds of Season One. With the Berlin ePrix moving from the abandoned Tempelhof airport to the city centre, the track will be new for everyone.
“It now means that I am available to race in the next round of Formula E. I’m looking forward to racing on this new track and will be pushing for a strong points finish,” he goes on to say.
