Prost loses points following pit stop infringement

Nico Prost continued the poor form of Renault eDAMS in Long Beach failing to finish within the points.

Despite being a high of fourth after the pit stops, it was found that he was under the minimum pit stop time, giving him a drive-through penalty. The French driver was a second under the mandatory minimum pit stop time, an uncharacteristic mistake by his eDAMS team. He had dropped to eleventh by the end of the race, losing out on any points in Long Beach given his teammate had claimed the fastest lap.

After a trying race for Nico Prost, he is already looking forward to his home race in Paris.

“Things were going really well for me running in fourth position before the drive-through.

“We were looking good for the rest of the race and I think we could have even been in with a chance of a podium finish, so it was frustrating for such a small mistake to result in the penalty.

“Today has been another day for us to learn from as I really want to come back very strong for my home race in Paris.”

At the midway point in the Formula E season, Prost is eighth in the drivers’ championship, with four points finishes including a podium at the last race in Mexico.
