After a long winter break, it feels good to be able to say that Formula One is back. The Australian Grand Prix wasn’t without its hiccups with the new qualifying and various incidents. Amongst all of this, one driver had an incredible race.
Romain Grosjean finished the first race of the season in sixth place, bringing eight points back to his team Haas. This is particularly impressive when you consider that his team, Haas, are brand new to F1 this year. For this reason, Romain Grosjean is my star driver of the Australian Grand Prix.
The team did experience its issues, including quite a large collision between Haas’ other driver, Esteban Gutierrez, and McLaren’s Fernando Alonso. However, this does not take away from the success of Grosjean.
Grosjean seemed to have quite a quiet race in comparison to his teammate. After qualifying in 19th place on Saturday, Grosjean pushed forward and gradually climbed his way to the points. His finishing position makes for an incredible debut with his new team.
Grosjean celebrated his win with champagne and a huge smile on his face. Who can blame him?

I would like to congratulate Romain Grosjean and Haas F1 Team. Both their cars and drivers look strong. If the points weren’t enough, Grosjean has confirmed that Haas does need to be taken seriously.
