After the first three days of testing ahead of the 2016 GP2 season, Pierre Gasly was fastest of anyone at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Gasly’s former teammate Alex Lynn and newly signed ART team leader Sergey Sirotkin also looked very strong. New faces Prema Racing made a very good first impression and have proved they have what it takes to win races from race one.
GP2 will return for the final three days of March for their final three days of testing before the season kicks off in March in Barcelona. The new calendar also sees the return of Sepang and the inclusion of the new Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku.
With Kirchhofer confirmed at Carlin, just five spaces remain on the 2016 GP2 grid. Arden, Carlin and Status all tried out potential candidates this week, with announcements expected soon.
