Formula Renault 3.5 champion Oliver Rowland will race for MP Motorsport in GP2 this season.
This news comes shortly after Rowland had been announced as a part of the new Renault Sport Academy programme.
Rowland made two appearances with MP Motorsport in GP2 last year, qualifying second at the Belgium Grand Prix.
The 23-year-old is confident he can succeed with MP Motorsport in 2016.
“Having worked and lived with the MP Motorsport guys in the Netherlands throughout my second year in [FRenault] Eurocup, we developed a really strong relationship which I hope we can capitalise on in GP2 this year,” said Rowland.
“We quickly re-established that productive partnership with a half decent debut at Silverstone last July.
“So I hope we can start where we left off and make a strong impression in the paddock in 2016.”
Rowland is the third Briton to be confirmed on the 2016 GP2 grid, the other two being Alex Lynn at DAMS and Jordan King at Racing Engineering.
