Renault e.Dams driver Nico Prost set the fastest time of second practice at the Punta del Este street circuit in Uruguay.
The Frenchman completed 17 laps in second practice and topped the session ahead of championship leader Lucas di Grassi.
Despite crashing early on, Sebastien Buemi recovered to third fastest. The former Toro Rosso Formula One driver was blocked in the final sector meaning he has pace in hand over the rest of the field heading into qualification.
Jerome D’Ambrosio ended the session fourth fastest in another encouraging session for Dragon Racing.
Robin Frijns, Antonio Felix da Costa, Stephane Sarrazin, Loic Duval, Sam Bird and Oliver Turvey rounded out the top 10 positions.
Jacques Villeneuve ended 11th fastest – an encouraging session for the 1997 Formula One champion.
Daniel Abt crashed heavily in sector two meaning he was unable to complete a 200kW lap in FP2.
Once again, Mahindra struggled with Senna and Rowland the two slowest drivers in FP2.
