Vandoorne fastest in post-season Abu Dhabi test

GP2 champion Stoffel Vandoorne set the pace in the post-season test at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi for McLaren.

All of the Formula One teams were testing on behalf of Pirelli which included the first running of the new ultra-soft tyre which will be introduced for 2016.

Vandoorne completed 99 laps in the McLaren MP4-30, ending the day three-tenths clear of Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen.

Raikkonen completed 46 laps after he took over from Sebastian Vettel, who completed 56 laps, eight-tenths off the pace set by Vandoorne.

Marcus Ericsson was third fastest for Sauber ahead of Jolyon Palmer in fourth.

Pascal Wehrlein completed 107 laps in the Mercedes and ended the day sixth fastest.

Daniel Ricciardo, Max Verstappen, and Nico Hulkenberg all completed at least a race distance while Bottas in P10, completed 103 laps.

Alfonso Celis Jr made his Formula One debut for Force India and completed 65 laps while Rio Haryanto and Jordan King drove for Manor, setting the 14th and 15th fastest laps respectively.
