Felipe Massa says he was left disappointed with Williams’ qualifying at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
Massa qualified seventh in Mexico, one place behind teammate Valtteri Bottas.
The Williams duo will line-up behind the two Mercedes’, Sebastian Vettel and the Red Bull duo.
The Brazilian was left disappointed after qualifying with Williams’ performance and the fact he could not improve on the second set of option tyres.
“We are sixth and seventh so we cannot be too happy with our performance. I did my quickest time on the first set of tyres in Q3. I tried all I could on the second set but I couldn’t improve my time.
Massa says he hopes to move forward in today’s race but is aware it will be difficult due to the various variables such as rain.
“It sets the beginning of what could be a very difficult race where many things can happen, accidents, cars off the track, rain, so we need to wait and see as it can all change. I hope we can move forward tomorrow.”
