Van Buuren and Binder to race for MP Motorsport

Meindert van Buuren and Rene Binder are set to race for MP Motorsport this weekend at Monza.

As recently reported that Binder would break ties with Trident and race for MP Motorsport this weekend, Meindert van Buuren joins him as the pair replace Formula Renault 3.5 championship leader Oliver Rowland and the injured Daniel De Jong following his accident at Spa.

De Jong is hopeful that he can return to the series before it ends at Abu Dhabi in November.

Van Buuren will be one of three debutants on the grid this weekend, in addition to Carlin’s Jann Mardenborough, and Lazarus’s Patric Niederhauser.

Binder has been replaced at Trident by Johnny Cecotto Jr, whilst Hilmer will only be running one car again which consists of Simon Trummer who returns after racing in Austria for the team. Participant of the one-car Hilmer squad last time out, Nick Yelloly, will race for Charouz in Formula Renault 3.5 this weekend.
