Kaltenborn: Austrian GP was a "horrifying race"

11012203_854895611224573_5738548067241098876_nSauber’s team boss Monisha Kaltenborn has described the team’s race in Austria last weekend as “horrifying”.

The two Sauber drivers were without a trouble-free Sunday, including Marcus Ericsson serving a drive through penalty for jumping the start and his afternoon being compounded by coming to a brief halt on the start/finish straight by power glitches, while Felipe Nasr’s race was compromised by brake problems throughout the race.

Both Nasr and Ericsson ended up finishing 11th and 13th respectively and Kaltenborn aims to use the second in-season test taking place this week to get on top of the reliability troubles her team faced.

“It was a really horrifying race, there’s nothing else to say,” she said when interviewed by AUTOSPORT.

“Everything just went wrong for Marcus so what else can he do? And Felipe was doing absolutely fine but we are not getting our act together on his brake cooling and that’s absolutely unacceptable.

“It’s very frustrating because he drives this well and we are into the points and we are just not able to resolve this.

“That’s what the guys need to figure out during the test now.”
