Hamilton fastest in FP2

CGwfJZqW8AA7jq-Second practice in Montreal started with some fast runs which saw Lewis Hamilton on top with a time off 1.15.988.

Sebastian Vettel was in second with a 1.16.534 which he then improved to a 1.16.304, with Kimi Räikkönen a fraction slower in third.

Shortly after Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton had to take avoiding action against Romain Grosjean who was just about to start a quick lap.

Lewis had to cut the final chicane as Romain Grosjean braked early for a better exit, going onto the pit straight for his quick lap. Therefore Hamilton’s lap did not count.

Nico Hülkenberg was on a fast lap, which was later abandoned due to a puncher which was rim related.

The only excited came when ultra-aggressive Hamilton missed the first apex of the final chicane, due to this he bounced over the kerb of the second apex and in the process just missed the wall of champions.

With fifty minutes to go the rain fell and swamped Montreal with grey clouds lurking in the background.

With 40 minutes to go of FP2, both Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton lined up to do some wet testing.

On their out lap the rain came down more heavily which resulted in Hamilton aquaplaning into tyre barrier of the famous hairpin.

This resulted in Hamilton breaking his front wing and Rosberg retreating to his garage. The final on-track action came when the Mercedes safety car attacked Montreal with its V8 grunt.
