''Not a happy weekend'' – Kvyat

In an interview with the media after the race today, Red Bull driver Daniil Kvyat believes that the team  “will overcome” their current issues soon.

The Russian driver has now completed just one of this year’s three grands prix as once again his RB11 let him down, this time in Shanghai.

A tough Sunday afternoon saw Kvyat struggling to run inside the top ten having lost places at the start. After 17 laps it was all over with an apparent engine failure leading to a firey end.

In his interview with the media after the race today, Kvyat believes that even though it has been a tricky and an unhappy weekend for himself and his team; he believes that they will bounce back from their current issues. Kvyat stated the following:-

‘It has been a tricky weekend and not a happy end to it. It was messy at the start. I didn’t have the best tyres and the other cars were faster than me. We will overcome these difficult moments.’

Even though things are difficult for Red Bull and Kvyat at the moment; all they can do is the best job possible and work closely with Renault on sorting their current issues out as quickly as possible.

Even though Kvyat will not be happy with his performance this weekend; the fact that his team-mate Ricciardo finished in ninth place today shows that the RB11 can finish; provided that they continue to develop the car as much as possible.

The pressure is now on Red Bull and Renault to develop and improve as quickly as possible and give Kvyat a car that is capable of the results that we know he can deliver.
