Hilmer Motorsport announced today that Nick Yelloly will test for the German team in the second pre-season test in Bahrain from April 1st to 3rd.

The young Brit took part in the GP3 Series in 2013 with Carlin and 2014 with Status Grand Prix, where he scored one win and eight podiums in two years, and finished sixth in the championship standings in both seasons.

In addition to his GP3 experience, Yelloly also has a link to Formula 1: The 24-year old is Sahara Force India’s Chief Simulation Driver in 2015, and as a result of the team’s partnership with Hilmer Motorsport, Yelloly received the opportunity to drive for the German squad in Bahrain.

“Firstly I would like to thank Franz Hilmer for making the call to get me out to Bahrain to test in GP2 with Hilmer Motorsport”, states Yelloly. “It is a great opportunity and I really can’t wait to jump in the car on Wednesday morning and to work with the whole team. It will be my first time in the GP2 car and at the Bahrain circuit too. But I am sure after a few laps I will be able to get up to speed and make it a very productive test together.”

The first GP2 race weekend of 2015 will take at the Sakhir International Circuit in Bahrain from April 17th to 19th.
