GP2 driver Mitch Evans has signed up to compete in the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans, and will drive for reigning LMP2 champions Jota Sport.
The Kiwi, who is believed to have already tested the LMP2 car, replaces Filip Albuquerque and will be teamed up with Simon Dolan and Nick Yelloly.
Evans is already signed up to the GP2 Series for 2015 with Russian Time, and follows in the footsteps of F1 driver Nico Hulkenberg by combining his regular commitments with the fabled French endurance event.
Mark Webber, who mentors the young Kiwi, is understood to have been key to Evans getting the drive with Jota Sport, and believes it will be important for his protege to gain experience in endurance racing as well as single-seaters.
