British driver Alex Lynn has topped the timesheets for the second day of pre-season testing in Abu Dhabi.

Just like the opening day, testing began under blue skies, with Mitch Evans setting the early pace while most of the drivers concentrated on race simulations. Towards the end of the morning session, the DAMS cars of Alex Lynn and Pierre Gasly put in 1m50s to register first and second respectively, with Lynn improving to a 1:49.648.

In the afternoon session, Norman Nato, who is debuting in the series with Arden International, topped the times with a lap time of 1:49.697 to go 1.3s faster than his team Andre Negrao, who ended the session second, but a mere half a tenth shy of Lynn’s fastest time in the morning.

Two red flag periods interrupted proceedings, with Nato and Rio Haryanto both grinding to a halt with mechanical problems in the afternoon session.

Behind the table-topping Arden International duo in the afternoon session, Raffaele Marciello registered the third fastest time, three hundredths behind Negrao, with Sergio Canamasas a further two tenths down in fourth. The top ten was rounded off by Binder, Vandoorne, Sirotkin, Amberg, Matsushita and Stanaway.
