Campos Racing has announced their second driver for the upcoming season: 22-year-old Indonesian Rio Haryanto will join forces with Frenchman Arthur Pic after having tested for the Spanish team in Abu Dhabi in November.
The Indonesian is one of the most experienced drivers on the grid with three seasons in GP2 under his belt, and he has proven his skills with podiums in the prestigious races in Silverstone and in Monaco’s streets, and multiple race wins in GP3 before his promotion to the sister series.
Haryanto’s experience coupled with Pic’s talent makes a powerful combination for Campos Racing.
“I should like warmly to welcome Rio Haryanto to Campos Racing”, says team principal Adrián Campos. “I am very pleased as he is an experienced driver. We are going to give him our full support to deliver good results together.”
Haryanto himself is pleased to be in the series back for a fourth season. “I am very happy to be back in GP2 this year and looking forward to working together with Campos”, he states. “I feel that Campos Racing is a strong team and are very committed to success and Adrian is a good motivator. Thank you to Pertamina for the loyal support.”
