Williams has moved quickly to set the tone for British Grand Prix week, revealing a one-off Union Jack-inspired FW48 livery for Silverstone.
The Grove team confirmed the design will run across the car, race suits and special-edition team kit, giving Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz a clear home-race identity before practice begins.
Formula 1 also described the look as a British GP-specific design, with red, white and blue detail added to Williams’ regular blue base. For a team still trying to turn better 2026 execution into points, the timing matters as much as the paintwork.
Williams turns Silverstone week into a brand play
Silverstone gives Williams one of the strongest heritage platforms on the calendar. The livery is not a performance upgrade, but it sharpens attention around a team that has already leaned heavily on Albon, Sainz and James Vowles as the public face of its rebuild.
That context is important after Vowles recently insisted Albon and Sainz were settled around Williams’ upgrade path. A home-race launch gives the team a cleaner story before the competitive judgement arrives on track.
Albon and Sainz now need the FW48 to make the livery more than a weekend talking point. At Silverstone, Williams has the image. The harder question is whether it can find the pace to match it.
