F1: Norris escapes penalty for Miami Sprint

The FIA Stewards have cleared Lando Norris after an investigation into a slowing incident during yesterday’s Sprint qualifying session. Norris was flagged for driving unnecessarily slowly at Turn 17, potentially impeding Nico Hulkenberg’s Audi. However, the stewards decided his actions were a necessary reaction to being passed by Hulkenberg while trying to leave a gap for his own flying lap.

With that threat of a grid-place penalty removed, Norris starts on pole, leading a grid ahead of Kimi Antonelli in P2 and Oscar Piastri in P3. After the five-week break, McLaren’s upgrades appear to have worked, and they now appear to be in a good place to challenge Mercedes’ early-season dominance.

NASCAR: Hocevar and Spire dominate in Texas

Fresh from his career-defining Cup Series win at Talladega, Carson Hocevar kept the momentum going at the Texas Motor Speedway last night. Driving the No. 77 Chevrolet, Hocevar led a race-high 76 laps and survived a chaotic overtime restart to win the SpeedyCash.com 250.

This 1-2 finish for Spire Motorsport confirmed their status as the team to beat in this season’s Truck Series.

Formula E: Tempelhof turns pink

In Berlin, the iconic ‘Pink Pig’ Porsche heritage livery has returned to the track. Their drivers, Pascal Wehrlein and Nico Muller, showed good pace in this morning’s FP2 session. As Round 7 approaches, the focus is still on the efficiency of Porsche’s software, which has allowed them to maintain a slim lead in the championship standings ahead of qualifying later today.
