Christian Horner recently showcased interest in exploring other motorsports as the rumours around his F1 return continue to circulate on the internet. He was recently spotted at the final practice session at the Honda Garage at the Spanish GP.

He was seen speaking with Honda Racing Corporation CEO Koji Watanabe. Moreover, in an interview, he revealed that he is spending his free time exploring other motorsports and learning a bit about them.

Horner was a prominent figure at Red Bull Racing from 2005 to 2025, whose brilliant leadership helped the team secure six constructors’ and eight drivers’ titles, four each by Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen.

Things didn’t look good for him after he was accused by a female employee of sexual misconduct. After that, a lot of issues emerged internally and externally, plus the impact of these allegations continued, which led to his ultimate sacking. Laurent Mekeis took his place as Red Bull boss.

Horner showcases interest in other forms of motorsport

In a conversation with TNT, Horner revealed that he attended the MotoGP to explore other forms of motorsports and learn a bit about them in his free time. He further said, “I’m liking what I see, but there’s always going to be speculation.”

Speaking with MotoGP’s official feed, Horner mentioned that he is a big fan of MotoGP, and he visited Honda, which also has a very strong partnership with Red Bull Racing. “I’ve got a little bit of time, I thought it was a good opportunity to come down and have a look at the championship,” he elaborated.

Reflecting on the sport’s common connection with F1, he added, “Obviously, [MotoGP] is under new ownership now, in common with Formula 1, and it’s great to see the bikes and how they have evolved. I was last at a MotoGP race in Estoril [in Portugal] in 2005, so it’s been a while.”

Horner addressed one of the F1 return rumours recently

While Horner has gone from F1, the speculations around his return haven’t stopped. Every time a leadership role empties in the paddock, he’s immediately connected to it. Recently, he has been linked to teams like Aston Martin, Ferrari, Alpine, and Audi for a potential leadership role.

Recently, he debunked the rumours surrounding Alpine, revealing that he’s in no rush to return to the sport and is currently on a break. He’ll think about his career move once he’s out of his hiatus. Expressing his interest in watching other motorsports, he said to Sky Sport MotoGP in Jerez:

“At the moment, I’m enjoying watching other sports. I’m here as a guest of MotoGP and Liberty Media. I’ve had some time to watch other races, I’ve always been a fan of the championship, so it’s fantastic to be here. And I’m a fan of Marc Marquez – he’s the Verstappen of MotoGP.”
