F1 bosses extend factory shutdown period but July restart still in play

Formula 1 bosses have almost doubled the factory shutdown period for competing teams.

To try to keep some degree of fairness during these strange global times, teams have been told that their factories must be closed to any employees related to car performance for 63 consecutive days from the day they first closed.

Teams began shutdowns on different dates back in March and to ensure that nobody gains a competitive advantage, they must all remain closed for 63 days, which will take most of them to the end of May.

That means that F1’s hope of restarting the season in July is still in play, which is potentially good news for those who use Bovada to predict the outcome of races and the World Championship standings as a whole.

It looks like when F1 does resume, it will do so behind closed doors, with spectators unable to attend races, but they will still be able to watch the action live on television, if things go to plan.

Formula 1 bosses, by extending the factory shutdowns, have done all they can to help keep people safe and to prevent any teams getting an unfair advantage, hopefully, as and when the season does resume, the racing will be as competitive as ever and no teams will be at a disadvantage due to the ongoing events.
