Chase Carey, the executive chairman of the Formula One Group, says that he plans to start the F1 season in Austria in July after France became the latest country to postpone its own race due to the ongoing global crisis.
France has put a ban on major events until mid-July, meaning the race on June 28th had to be called off.
However, there’s now increased confidence that the Austrian Grand Prix could start the new season, one that will last between 15 and 18 races. Those who want to predict who will win the World Championship title in the new season should check out the Betwinner app before they make their selection.
Lewis Hamilton will be hoping to win a seventh world title, one that would see him tie Michael Schumacher’s record, but it remains to be seen if the shortened season will be a help or a hindrance to the British star.
F1 fans across the globe likely won’t be able to attend many races in person but just seeing their favourite stars driving again on TV will be a welcome boost at a time when people are looking for entertainment.
