Perez Extends Racing Point Contract For Further Three Years

Racing Point has announced that Sergio Perez will remain in the team for a further three years.

The Mexican driver has been with the team since 2014, when it was originally Force India, and has so far completed a total of 112 races with the Silverstone-based outfit.

During that time Perez has scored points on 80 occasions, with four of those moments being situations where he has found himself stepping foot onto the podium.

When looking towards the future of the team’s performance, Perez seemed optimistic about the trajectory that Racing Point is taking as the team fights its way through the midfield.

“I have been impressed with the direction the team has taken over the last twelve months and that gives me confidence for the future” said Perez.

“I believe the best times are still to come and I look forward to celebrating plenty of podiums in the years ahead.”

Racing Point team principal Otmar Szafnauer also expressed his delight in resigning Perez for a further three years, after being impressed with the 28 year olds consistency and raw speed during the time they have worked together.

“Over the last six years we have seen him become a very complete driver with excellent qualifying speed and exceptional race craft,” he said.
