Epic races, a titanic title fight between two of Formula 1’s most successful drivers and a midfield war which included stunning racecraft and storylines – the 2018 season was intriguing.
Lewis Hamilton was crowned a five-time world champion with two races to spare after a dip in form following the summer break meant that Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari fell adrift in the title fight.
Meanwhile, Max Verstappen progressed from early-season struggles to become Hamilton’s greatest threat in the closing stages of the year, as the Dutchman rounded out his season with five consecutive podium finishes. Team-mate Daniel Ricciardo’s mechanical misfortune, however, was a season-long tale.
Immediately after each of the 21 races, READ MOTORSPORT produced a Driver Ratings feature to score each drivers’ performance out of 10.
Calculating the average score for each driver across the course of the season, here are our 2018 F1 ratings.
