Formula 1 gears up for an exciting 2019

The new talent that is making its way into the Formula 1 circuit in 2019 has a lot of people excited, and with good reason. Formula 2’s top three racers – Lando Norris, George Russell and Alexander Albon – are all set to invade Formula 1. McLaren has partnered with Norris, Russell is going to Williams and Albon is doing business with Toro Rosso.

Those who are looking to make a bet on freebets.uk favoring Stoffel Vandoorne, Estaban Ocon and Fernando Alonso will have to switch up strategies. (McLaren had both Vandoorne and Alonso, while Force India was racing with Ocon.) Although these F1 vets taking a backseat to make room for the rookies, but the field looks just as competitive as ever. Another McLaren driver, Carlos Sainz, has gone on record as saying that the new talent in F1 is “well prepared” and that the grid quality won’t suffer for the veterans taking a break. Many bettors are preparing for more competitive odds because of the more level playing field.

New Tech for F1 Rookies

One of the reasons that the new crop of Formula 1 racers are prepared is updated simulation technology that provides cost effective training for the F1 racing environments. Drivers who are racing on another circuit no longer have to travel or search for similar tracks to practice in their spare time. If they know they will be racing in Australia, they can simulate those tracks in a cost effective way.

Many bettors have already taken this new technology into account. Taking a look at strategy websites, you can see that part of the oddsmaking is determining whether a certain driver has had experience with a certain simulation tech.

Making Room for New Talent

Sainz also told Eurosport that he was sad to see veterans like Alonso leave. However, Alonso has not won a race since 2012 with McLaren. New drivers may have more experience with the powerful V6 hybrid turbo 1.6 L – the units that have seen only three teams winning races since 2014. Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari are the three top teams, with Sergio Perez from Force India the only driver to take a victory in 2018 outside of these three.

Canadian driver Lance Stroll was the single driver in 2018 to finish in the top three outside of the Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari teams. Oddsmaking is sure to take a more exciting turn as well, with more competition now set to come from different directions.

F1 Teams and New Blood

Overall, F1 teams seem open to providing new drivers new opportunities. With just a few outfits dominating the circuit over the past few years, teams on the outside are making an impact any way that they can.

Older drivers are noting the fact that teams are looking for new blood. Williams driver Valtteri Bottas is a product of this new turn in F1 politics. Bottas first tested with the Williams team in 2011, managing to win the GP3 title in the same year. But the rookies definitely have to earn their positions. Even with this performance, Bottas did not earn a seat until 2013.

Drivers new and old agree on one thing, however – the shakeups in positioning will bring a much needed bit of excitement to the sport. Look for some exciting races in the F1 circuit over the next few months, with some new people standing on the podiums at the end.
