Mercedes A-Class becomes more intelligent with MBUX infotainment system and ultra-modern drive system
Mercedes A-Class is no more a child hatchback of the Mercedes larger models because it has received a massive package of class-leading technologies and intelligent drive system. This system has transformed the driving behaviours in the city areas where traffic is heavy and congested and the level of hazardous situations with very sharp and tricky manoeuvers turn the situation even stressful and tiring. The Tech Heavy A-Class
The all-new A-Class is a trendy and tech-heavy Mercedes and according to the experts, it is no more a smaller basic hatchback version of the Mercedes cars. It has a handsome body shape and excellent designing cues. Mercedes has announced an A-Class saloon as well and it is also offering a sensational design and styling cues. Experts say it one of the most slippery Mercedes ever made, with a coefficient of drag of just 0.22, impressive.
The saloon has been stretched out to 4549mm and it is still shorter than the CLA Class. But at the same time, it has a wheelbase larger than the CLA class, having wheel options of 17 to 19 inches. Depends on the trim you have selected, the vehicle would get a 1.5-litre Mercedes A-Class engine of 115bhp with a hefty torque of 229 lb-ft. this would be called A200 or an A180D. However, the A200 can have a 1.4-litre petrol engine as well which is capable of generating 161bhp and 185 lb-ft of torque. There is a seven-speed dual clutch transmission fitted to all trims as standard.
A-Class MBUX Infotainment system
The A-Class also gets an excellent infotainment system as well. It is an MBUX infotainment system and offered only in sprinter models in the past. The A-Class gets this system with a number of advancements and tweaks. This system comes with a high-resolution widescreen cockpit. All system comes with a touchscreen system and according to the automaker, it’s one of the most adaptive and advanced display systems yet offered. There are two screen sizes available according to the needs of the buyers, a seven-inch touchscreen system or a 10.25-inch display system with a head up system and a voice control feature. The latter two features would be considered as extras and would be available on demand at extra cost.
The voice control system activates by saying “Hey Mercedes” just like you say “OK Google” to continue with the Google assistant. The MBUX intelligent infotainment system is not the only advanced feature an A-Class offers, but there are intelligent drive system features make it a fantastic vehicle drive with all these features. They have the ability to act automatically when they detect a hazard ahead.
The Mercedes Radar system and improved camera allow the system to see more than 500 meters easily to make decisions on the road conditions ahead. Lane keeps assistant system helps the vehicle to remain in the lane in heavy traffic ahead. The system can manage the speed automatically to handle the hazards in the road turns, roundabouts and heavy traffic ahead. The all-new model is coming in 2019.
