Mick Schumacher dominated the second European Formula 3 race of the weekend to take his second win of the season.
After being forced to retire from race one, Schumacher started from the front row of the grid alongside pole sitter Fabio Scherer. The Prema driver passed Scherer off the line and immediately distanced himself from the battles behind him.
Schumacher was unchallenged throughout the race, keeping a consistent gap of around 1.5s until the closing laps, when Juri Vips was able to come within 1.1s of the race leader.
Vips spent the first half of the race trying to find a way past Scherer. He was briefly passed by Jonathan Aberdein on the opening lap, but a wide moment for the South African allowed him to reclaim the position. From there, it was a two-way battle for P2 for much of the race. He managed to find a way past Scherer, but couldn’t shake his team-mate until Scherer came to a stop four laps before the chequered flag.
Aberdein inherited third to take his first podium of the season.
Enaam Ahmed took fourth ahead of Marcus Armstrong and Guanyu Zhou.
Dan Ticktum suffered a difficult start to the race, unable to get off the line properly and dropping back to 13th. From there, he slowly picked his way up through the order, eventually managing to climb into the top 10.
As the clock ticked down, Ticktum was pushing harder and harder to move forward, making contact with Ralf Aron in the closing stages of the race.
While that incident came under investigation another overtake, this time on the final lap of the race, also came into question as he ran wide to overtake Sacha Fenestraz.
Ticktum crossed the line seventh, less than a tenth of a second ahead of Fenestraz.
Robert Shvartzman and Ralf Aron complete the top 10.
