MP Motorsport’s Dorian Boccolacci has won GP3’s Hungarian sprint race to take the first series sprint race victory for the Dutch outfit.
Boccolacci, who was disqualified from a feature win after fuel issues at Paul Ricard, controlled the race for a first 2018 triumph by leading all 17 laps.
The Frenchman led directly from pole, defending from Juan Manuel Correa, before stretching a gap of over five seconds to ART’s Callum Ilott.
Ilott attacked around the outside as the trio went three-wide at the right-handed Turn 1 at the start, and went wide across the left-hand run-off area before placing second.
The Ferrari academy driver brought the gap down to 2.3s at the chequered flag but was unable to get close to Boccolacci.
Anthoine Hubert claimed a second third-place of the weekend by finding free space at the inside of Turn 1 on the opening lap.
Leonardo Pulcini was fourth, with Correa fifth.
Ryan Tveter lost places at the start and finished sixth ahead of Trident team-mate David Beckmann.
Sauber Formula 1 test driver Tatiana Calderon claimed her first point of 2018 in eighth.
Pedro Piquet and Diego Menchaca completed the top 10.
Feature race victor Nikita Mazepin fell to 10th in the opening laps before finishing 12th.
Jake Hughes was unable to move up the order following his feature issues, ending the contest in 14th.
Ferrari academy racer Giuliano Alesi was 16th above Jannes Fittje, who completed his first GP3 event.
Niko Kari retired and finished early for a third-consecutive session, involved in a racing incident with Fittje at the right-handed Turn 11.
