Marc Marquez secured pole position at the Sachsenring with a sensational last gasp effort to secure his ninth pole on the bounce at the German circuit.
The Spaniard left it late, but after two previous runs failed to produce the winning time, the Repsol Honda rider came out and set the fastest time of the session.
Marquez beat out Danilo Petrucci and Jorge Lorenzo to take the top spot, with Maverick Vinales just missing out on the front row.

Vinales will be joined on row two by Andrea Dovizioso and fellow Yamaha teammate Valentino Rossi, who start’s sixth.
Cal Crutchlow will start from seventh, with Andrea Iannone and Alvaro Bautista joining the British rider on the third row. Iannone will start eighth with Bautista ninth.
Dani Pedrosa, who announced his retirement from Grand Prix racing this week, will start from tenth with Alex Rins and Takaaki Nakagami starting from eleventh and twelfth respectively.
The MotoGP race will start at 13:00 BST tomorrow from the Saxon circuit.
