Ralf Aron has taken victory in the first European Formula 3 race of the weekend in Zandvoort, at the head of a four car Prema train.
Aron got past polesitter Guanyu Zhou at the first corner after a brilliant start but Zhou remained very much in his mirrors for the rest of the race.
Third went to Mick Schumacher who was running fastest early on in the race and keeping Zhou on the defensive but ultimately he couldn’t quite get close enough to make a move on his team-mates ahead.
In the latter stages Schumacher himself was forced to defend the final podium spot from championship leader Marcus Armstrong behind.
Dan Ticktum held onto fifth despite the pressure coming from Juri Vips who made his way from ninth to sixth on the first lap.
Vips went on to make some unsuccessful moves on the Brit and had to settle for crossing the line in sixth.
Jonathan Aberdein and Robert Shvartzman battled it out for seventh, with Aberdein eventually triumphing and Ben Hingeley and Alex Palou rounded out the top 10 for Hitech.
