Jorge Lorenzo topped the timesheets on day one at the Sachsenring, with the Spaniard beating out Danilo Petrucci to head the pack going into Saturday’s qualifying session.
The Spaniard was on top and ripped apart the traditional.rule book for the German circuit, with Marc Marquez the best of the Hondas down in fifth place. Andrea Iannone was third, with Petrucci second.

Andrea Dovizioso was fourth, with Maverick Vinales sixth. Takaaki Nakagami was seventh with Jack Miller finishing in eighth.
Cal Crutchlow was ninth, with Alvaro Bautista finishing down in tenth place. Alex Rins was eleventh with Pol Espargaro in twelfth.
Franco Morbidelli will take no further part in the weekend, with Honda test rider Stefan Bradl replacing Marc VDS rider for the remainder of the weekend.
FP3 and Qualifying will get underway tomorrow at the Sachsenring, with the grid set to be decided for Sunday’s race at the German circuit.
