Marquez wins hectic race at Assen

Marc Marquez took a hard fought victory at Assen today, just beating his rivals to take a well earned victory at the Dutch circuit.

The Spaniard beat out Alex Rins and Maverick Vinales to tighten his grip on the 2018 MotoGP World Championship, with the top five riders only separated by two seconds.

Alex Rins took his best ever MotoGP result so far at Assen, crossing the line ahead of Maverick Vinales to take second place with Vinales third.

Andrea Dovizioso was fourth, with Valentino Rossi fifth. Cal Crutchlow was sixth across the line with Jorge Lorenzo crossing the line in seventh place.

Johann Zarco was eighth with Alvaro Bautista and Jack Miller crossing the line ninth and tenth.

Marquez holds a monster lead at the top of the standings, with Rossi 41 points behind the Spaniard already at this point in the season. The riders will return in two weeks time in Germany at the Sachsenring.
