Marc Marquez’s championship prospects took a major boost, as the Spaniard won in Le Mans.
The Spaniard walked away with the win, after Championship rivals Andrea Dovizioso and Johann Zarco both fell after hitting the front. Zarco’s crash was devastating for the 105,000 French fans who packed into the famous circuit, after the Frenchman started on pole position.
Marquez won from Danilo Petrucci, who thought through the pack to take a well deserved podium. Valentino Rossi would take the final podium place, a good return to form for the Italian.

Jack Miller was fourth, with the Australian unable to catch Rossi for third. Dani Pedrosa ended up in fifth place ahead of Jorge Lorenzo. Lorenzo did lead at the front, but as what has become the norm for the Spaniard, he dropped back not long after.
Maverick Vinales was seventh, with Cal Crutchlow putting in a heroic ride to finish eighth after crashing yesterday in Q2. Aleix Espargaro was ninth with Alex Rins tenth.
The result leaves Marc Marquez in complete control of the World Championship, with his title rivals biting the dust in France.
The MotoGP world Championship returns in two weeks time at Mugello, with the fans set to come out to support their hometown Italian riders.
