Stephane Sarrazin will return to Formula E for the final four races of the season, replacing Tom Blomqvist at Andretti.
Sarrazin will partner Antonio Felix da Costa at the team which currently sits bottom of the FE teams’ standings on 20 points.
Replacing Kamui Kobayashi after the first round of the 2018 season, Tom Blomqvist has only secured one points-scoring finish in his first six FE races, with a best finish of eighth secured in his debut round in Marrakesh.
Blomqvist has left the series to focus on his World Endurance Championship commitments. He drives for BMW in the GTE-Pro class.
“First off – we are very thankful for the effort and time that Tom Blomqvist put in this season,” said Andretti CEO, Michael Andretti.
“Stephane Sarrazin brings with him a wealth of experience in FE. He is one of the smartest, most well-versed drivers in motorsports and we are excited for him to bring his knowledge to the Andretti team.
“We will make a strong push and hopefully finish the season on a high note at the last four races.”
Sarrazin previously competed in FE from season one through until season three, taking one pole position and three podiums.
initially driving for Venturi for two and a half seasons, he moved to Techeetah mid-way through season three.
He had dovetailed these commitments with LMP1 duties in the World Endurance Championship. In April this year, the multi-discipline driver also established his own World Rally Championship team to compete in the Tour of Corsica driving a Skoda Fabia R5.
Sarrazin’s first race with Andretti will be the Berlin ePrix on May 19. He will then compete in Zurich and the two races in New York to conclude the season.
