David Beckmann and Diego Menchaca will make their GP3 debuts in the 2018 season, racing with Jenzer and Campos respectively.
Beckmann moves up to the series after racing in European Formula 3 for two seasons, claiming a couple of podiums in 2016.
The German took part in post-season testing in Abu Dhabi last December for both Jenzer and Arden, having a best result of fifth from the afternoon of the third day in the British squad’s Dallara machinery.
“In the post-season tests last winter, David impressed us with his professional approach, and by being the fastest of the team despite his broken rib,” team owner Andreas Jenzer said.
He joins Tatiana Calderon and Juan Manuel Correa at the Swiss outfit.
Menchaca moves up
Menchaca enters the category after scoring points in all-but-one round of Formula V8 3.5 in 2017 with Fortec, grabbing a maiden podium at Austin.
The Mexican is reunited with Campos after spending two campaigns with it in Spanish Formula 3 and Euroformula Open.
“My relationship with the team has been built over the past four years, so basically they’re my family,” Menchaca said.
“We evaluated many different scenarios for the 2018 season which included Japan and also the USA, but in the end, together with Escuderia Telmex and my backers, we decided that what Adrian offered was the best programme available for me this year.
“I know the team went through a couple of difficult seasons, but after being at the workshop over the past week it’s very clear to me that the potential or good results is there, I can’t wait for testing to begin.”
The duo puts the number of racers named for the 2018 season up to 17, with pre-season testing starting at Circuit Paul Ricard on February 21-22.
