Correa given maiden complete GP3 season at Jenzer

Juan Manuel Correa has been given a full 2018 campaign in GP3 with Jenzer, joining Tatiana Calderon at the team.

Correa competed in seven races for the Swiss outfit in the second half of the 2017 season, claiming a best result of 12th in both Abu Dhabi contests.

He has previously taken race wins in the Italian F4 championship in 2016 and had two victories en route to fourth place in the drivers’ championship of the Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand this winter.

The Ecuadorian-American racer also competed in GP3 post-season testing at Abu Dhabi last December, having a best finish of 10th on the morning of day one.

“I learned a lot in 2017 and can’t wait to get started in the GP3 Series this season,” Correa said.

“My goal is to continue to improve on the experience that I gained last year and move up the grid.

“I had a great series in New Zealand where I was able to work with the same GP3 engineer that I had last year as well as will have in 2018.

“We made great use of the winter season to finetune our teamwork and communication which will definitely help throughout the season.”

Correa is the 15th driver to be arranged onto the 2018 grid.

The first sessions of pre-season testing begin at Circuit Paul Ricard on February 21-22.
