Former Formula 1 driver Paul di Resta and 2017 Formula V8 3.5 champion Pietro Fittipaldi will drive Jaguar’s Formula E car at the rookie test in Marrakesh.
The test is set to take place on Jan 14, the day after the Marrakesh ePrix, and is limited to drivers who don’t have an e-license
Di Resta, who filled in for Felipe Massa at Williams for the Hungarian Grand Prix this year, will travel to Morocco after testing for the Daytona 24 Hours in Florida, USA.
“It is a perfect opportunity, at the right time of year to have a go,” Di Resta said.
“It will be an intensive day of testing in Marrakech but I’m sure I can give some positive feedback to the team.”
The chance for Fittipaldi comes after his successful season in Formula V8 3.5, where he took six wins and won the championship ahead of Matevos Isaakyan.
Fittipaldi says that he has taken an interest to FE since the series first tested at Donington, saying, “I am really looking forward to driving the car and with Jaguar’s heritage in racing it is a very special privilege.”
