Buemi back on top in final Hong Kong practice

Renault e.dams driver Sebastien Buemi topped the third and final free practice session in Hong Kong, with rival Lucas di Grassi in third.

Buemi led for much of the session, and he ended it over three tenths up on DS Virgin’s Alex Lynn and Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler’s di Grassi, who finished outside of the points in the first ePrix of the weekend due to damage from an altercation.

Nearing the end of the session Buemi almost collided in traffic, something team-mate Nicolas Prost did manage to do after clashing with Dragon’s Jerome d’Ambrosio.

Jean-Eric Vergne and Sam Bird, rivals for victory in the first ePrix on Saturday, were fourth and fifth fastest, ahead of Felix Rosenqvist, Daniel Abt, Edoardo Mortara, Nick Heidfeld and Oliver Turvey.

Early pace-setters and Jaguar team-mates Mitch Evans and Nelson Piquet Jr slipped to 13th and 14th fastest by the end of the 45 minutes of running.
