Habsburg leads final day of GP3 Abu Dhabi test

Ferdinand Habsburg was fastest on the final day of GP3’s post-season test at Abu Dhabi, as MP Motorsport completed its clean sweep.

Habsburg, who switched from Arden to MP Motorsport for Saturday, set a 1m54.869s in the morning to top the timesheets at the end of the day.

His European Formula 3 team-mate Jehan Daruvala also switched to MP Motorsport for the day, but was two tenths adrift of Habsburg.

Jake Hughes was fastest in the afternoon session for ART Grand Prix, but his quickest time like most of the drivers, came in the morning.

Fellow F3 runner Nikita Mazepin also driving for ART, was third quickest overall ahead of Niko Kari and Ferrari junior Callum Ilott. Max Defourny was sixth quickest for MP Motorsport.

Hughes, Pedro Piquet, Gabriel Aubry and Giuliano Alesi completed the top 10.

David Beckmann, testing with Arden, binned his car into the barriers at Turn 1 in the morning but recovered to set the fifth fastest time of the afternoon.

GP3 will return on February 21 next year at Le Castellet, which will host the French Grand Prix in June.
