2015 Moto3 world champion Danny Kent will make his second appearance in the Moto2 class as a stand-in at the Dynavolt Intact team in place of the injured Marcel Schrotter.
Kent – who returned to the Moto2 class in 2016 having previously contested one season in 2013 with Tech 3 – parted ways with the Kiefer Racing outfit at the Austin round of the championship after a difficult 21 races with the team.

The British rider was thrown a lifeline by former team boss Aki Ajo to race in France with the Red Bull KTM Moto3 team as a wildcard.
Finishing 10th at Le Mans, Kent returned to Moto2 action a fortnight later as Iker Lecuona’s replacement at the Interwetten team. However, he failed to see the chequered flag on that occasion after a late fall.
He was called upon by Ajo once more for the German Grand Prix to ride in place of the injured Niccolo Antonelli, though he once again suffered a DNF.

Dynaolt Intact’s Schrotter suffered a broken wrist during the summer break and was forced to miss the Czech Grand Prix.
Undergoing successful surgery on Monday, the German had hoped to make it to the Red Bull Ring for this weekend’s 12th round of the season, but has since opted for more recovery time instead.
The Austrian Grand Prix will mark the first time since he parted ways with Kiefer Racing Kent will ride a Suter chassis.
