Siebert and Vaxiviere penalised after Hungarian GP3 sprint

Campos Racing’s Marcos Siebert and DAMS’s Matthieu Vaxiviere have both been penalised following the GP3 sprint race at the Hungaroring.

The drivers were found to have not slowed sufficiently for a virtual safety car period and were given drivethrough penalties.

As these could not take effect on track, 20 seconds has been added to the race time of both drivers.

Siebert finished eighth, 11.6 seconds behind winner Giuliano Alesi on the circuit.

This would have been his first points finish since the opening feature in Spain, but he has dropped down to ninth in the final classification.

It promotes Haas Formula 1 development driver Arjun Maini to eighth, with Siebert 18.9s behind the Indian in the results.

Vaxiviere was 11th, 64.1s behind Ferrari junior Alesi, and now drops down to 12th behind Mercedes protege George Russell.

He is the last racer in the order to complete all 17 laps, above team-mate Tatiana Calderon, who ended the event one lap down.
