McLaren junior Lando Norris claimed his fourth European Formula 3 victory in the first race of the weekend at Spa.
The Carlin driver led from lights to flag, defending against Prema Powerteam’s Callum Ilott on the opening lap. The pair ran side by side with Maximilian Gunther and Jake Hughes right behind. Ilott ran wide and bounced over the kerb to rejoin the track. He collided with Hughes, sending the Hitech driver airborne and out of the race.
The safety car was brought out to clear the incident and Ilott was handed a drive through penalty. He finished 14th.
On the restart, Norris was able to pull away from Gunther and Nikita Mazepin, who were battling for second, and finished with a gap of 2.807s.
Mazepin managed to find a way past Gunther to take his best finish of the season.
Jehan Daruvala took fourth, just ahead of Joey Maweson.
Mick Schumacher enjoyed a strong climb up through the field, finishing sixth after starting 14th on the grid.
Harrison Newey took seventh, ahead of the battling Ferdinand Habsburg and Joel Eriksson.
Pedro Piquet rounded out the top 10, recovering after a difficult start to the race.
