Trident’s Dorian Boccolacci has been given a three-place grid penalty for the next feature race at the Silverstone circuit after an incident in Austria’s sprint race.
The French driver’s race ended in the gravel after hitting the rear right tyre of Alessio Lorandi’s car and going airborne, flipping three times.
Boccolacci was classified in 17th after retiring on the penultimate lap, while Lorandi was amazingly able to continue to the final points position of eighth.
He was deemed to be at fault for the collision and will start the next feature in a minimum of fourth place on the grid.
The 18-year-old has qualified in third in both of his opening GP3 rounds, being the main rival to ART’s Jack Aitken, Nirei Fukuzumi and George Russell.
