Alex Marquez has eased to his second Moto2 victory of the season, closing the gap to teammate Franco Morbidelli in the world championship.
Marquez gapped the field early on and created an unassailable lead. Mattia Pasini, who finished second, simply wasn’t able to keep up with the Spaniard.
Franco Morbidelli was originally able to stay in the podium places. However, during the middle stages of the race, he simply kept going backwards. He was passed by Tom Luthi and Miguel Oliveria, before also falling behind Lorenzo Baldasarri.

Tom Luthi would finish third, with Oliveria fourth and Baldasarri fifth. Morbidelli would end up sixth, with Jorge Navarro running a great race to finish in seventh.
Fabio Quartararo was eighth, with Xavi Vierge and Hafizh Syahrin finishing just behind the Frenchman in ninth and tenth place respectively.
This result allowed Marquez to close the gap to Morbidelli in the standings, putting him firmly in championship contention.
The Moto2 riders return in two weeks time for the historic Dutch TT and the Assen TT Circuit.
