Morbidelli beats Marquez to Mugello Pole

Franco Morbidelli has taken pole position for tomorrow’s Moto2 race at Mugello, his home Grand Prix.

The Italian took pole for his home GP by beating out teammate Alex Marquez. The pair have dominated proceedings so far this weekend, setting the pace in the three free practice sessions so far this weekend.

Mattia Pasini took third, giving the Italian a front row start for his home GP. Tom Lüthi and Takaaki Nakagami head the second row, with Luca Marini joining them in sixth.

Jorge Navarro was seventh, with Francesco Bagnaia and Lorenzo Baldasarri joining him for their home GP.

Miguel Oliveria lines up ninth, with Simone Corsi joining him in tenth and Remy Gardner lining up in eleventh place.

It is set to be an exciting Moto2 race, with rivals Alex Marquez and Morbidelli battling it out for the win. Action gets underway at the Mugello Circuit in Italy at 11;20 BST.
