Jorge Martin left it late but was able to take his third Moto3 pole position in a row at Mugello.
The Spaniard was able to yet again take pole but will be hoping to turn his qualifying performances into race wins.
As is the norm in this class, most of the grid was settled after the chequered flag went out. John McPhee struggled throughout the session but was able to put in a final quick lap to put him second for tomorrow’s race. The Scot has struggled recently in qualifying, so will be relieved to have done the business today.

Joan Mir will start third, even after crashing out early in the session. The Spaniard had a high side but was eventually able to return to the track and jump up the standings at the death. The Championship leader beat out Fabio Di Giannantonio. The Italian led for the majority of qualifying, but was bumped off the front row by McPhee and Mir and will start from fourth place.
Joining Di Giannantonio on the second row will be Nicolo Bulega and Juanfran Guevara. Bulega himself crashed but was able to still get a good start for tomorrow.
Romano Fenati heads up row three with Marcos Ramirez and Bo Bendsneyder lining up alongside him. Tatsuki Suzuki will start from tenth, with Jules Danilo and Niccolo Antonelli starting from eleventh and twelfth respectively.
