Gresini Racing’s Jorge Martin has been handed a twelve place grid penalty for tomorrow’s Italian GP, stripping him of pole position.

Also given penalties were Manuel Pagliani and Kaito Toba, with Pagliani given a €300 fine for being a repeat offender.

This was to be Martin’s third pole position in a row, after taking pole at Le Mans and Jerez. However, after riding slowly through three sectors in FP3, the race will now be much more difficult for the Spaniard.

Still hunting for his first win of the season, Martin has been ever present at the front of the Moto3 pack. He has picked up three podiums so far and sits in fourth place in the Moto3 world championship.
